I think time will prove that Manning will be to the USA,what Mandela was and still is to South Africa and the world.
not unlikely to go from ‘criminal’ to hero and respected by all.
MANDELA .One day a terrorist facing the death penalty,to president of South Africa.
MANNING .One day a traitor detained without trail,to a internationally hero, standing up for what he believes in.

The US Government, and most notably employees from any department under the auspices of the Department of Homeland Security (Customs, Immigration, TSA, etc), are far too free to label/libel US citizens as “traitors”. I know this from experience after immigrating to Canada when George W. Bush was appointed President.

I have been called a “traitor” by one US Immigration Officer (US Preclearance in Calgary) and called “unpatriotic” by another (US Customs in Houston) for being a US citizen residing outside of the USA.

The “Patriot Act” is now used as an EXCUSE to violate the Rights of both citizens and non-citizens alike.

Bradley Manning is nothing more than a whistleblower. God Bless him for standing up against government corruption. But be assured that the US government, US Military establishment and the US Federal Court system will distort laws to justify their actions and protect their own.
