Legal defense requests evidence
The government is withholding important evidence that would help Bradley’s case, reports Kim Zetter. While the Wired article, “Feds Withholding Evidence Favorable to Bradley Manning, Lawyer Charges”, notes that a DIA review found no evidence of any harm to national security, legal counsel David Coombs explains that the administration has stonewalled even routine requests for evidence, as well as copies of video surveillance of his meetings with Manning.
Today’s update comes on the one year anniversary of the beginning of the “Cablegate” release by WikiLeaks.

Unfortunately this is an all too common practice in felony criminal cases in the US criminal justice system. Proecutorial misconduct is frequent in state courts, US courts, and military courts. We have the inmates running the asylum here and it is far from the best system in the world; it is one of the worst.
Also unfortunately, few *get it* unless they experience it firsthand.

The US has been thumbing its nose at the UN and INternational Law since Bush Sr. at least, so this comes as no big surprise. Stand with the Empire, or stand with the people and take your chances. I stand with the people, and that INCLUDES Brad.
Bradley Manning is a national hero. He should be receiving awards and compensation for protecting his country instead of being treated as a criminal for exposing crimes against humanity and government coverups.
