Protesters at Obama's Thursday Fundraiser

Obama was serenaded by Bradley Manning Supporters at a big-ticket fundraiser early Thursday morning.  Reports say he looked “displeased.”  The action has received worldwide news coverage. From blogger activist Shawn: “This gives me hope, not because the administration is suddenly listening… but because people are beginning to realize the obfuscation going on, and they are creating clever ways around it. Still, I find it terribly offensive that to have our voices heard, we the people, must take great amounts of time and effort and spend thousands of dollars to reach our leaders.”

A member of the Bradley Manning Support Network who was attending the protest, Logan Price, took the opportunity to talk to the President at the end of the event.  Obama’s comments are telling, regarding the lack of due process so far in this case.

IMPORTANT: As of 4/21/11, Bradley Manning has been moved to a prison in Leavenworth, Kansas.  What transpires next remains to be seen.  Activists in Kansas and Missouri are already preparing their response.  (Check out the “MO-KAN Bradley Manning Support Team” on facebook.)
