D.J. Spooky supports Bradley Manning

The 2011 whistleblower award given by the Federation of German Scientists (VDW) and the German Section of the Bar Association IALANA (“lawyers against nuclear, biological and chemical weapons”) has been given to “Anonymous” or the person who released the “Collateral Murder” video. Daniel Ellsberg won this award in 2003.

This Sunday CNN is showing the documentary “WikiWars” which is an in depth report on the Wikileaks organization, including interviews with Julian Assange and other volunteers. Hopefully they will take some time to speak about Bradley Manning and the fact that he is still being incarcerated.

Also from CNN is an interview with Daniel Ellsberg, speaking about the declassification of the Pentagon Papers and the current case of Bradley Manning. About his recent arrest, he states “….in front of the White House and at Quantico, I was attempting to communicate with those holding him prisoner, to protest the abusive and illegal conditions of his detention, amounting not only to punishment of someone not tried, convicted or sentenced but to torture forbidden by domestic and international law and the Constitution even as punishment”. He also calls Bradley Manning a hero, and that the treatment Ellsberg received in the 70s is nowhere near the ongoing torture that Bradley had received at Quanico.
