Call-in to Obama: Demand Promised Whistleblower Protections.

Call in to the national Obama campaign office at 312-698-3670 and demand that Bradley Manning be given the whistleblower protections that Obama promised.  Afterwards, consider contacting the local campaign office (listed below) and please share your experience on Facebook, Twitter, and everywhere else you can think of!

Bradley Manning’s next motion hearing will be held June 6-8 at Fort Meade, MD and we are asking supporters to take this opportunity to let President Obama and his campaign know that Bradley Manning is a whistleblower that deserves the government’s utmost protection – not a life sentence. In solidarity with Bradley’s next hearing, please call-in to your nearest Obama campaign office and tell them that Bradley Manning is a whistleblower: one that Obama promised to protect. Help free Bradley Manning!

Obama’s campaign promise to protect those who expose fraud and abuse could not be clearer. After praising whistle-blowers as vital to American democracy, he says,

“Barack Obama will strengthen whistleblower laws to protect federal workers who expose waste, fraud, and abuse of authority in government. Obama will ensure that federal agencies expedite the process for reviewing whistleblower claims and whistleblowers have full access to courts and due process.”

But after two years without court martial, eleven months of which spent in abusive solitary confinement, Bradley Manning has not received due process. Further, the government is shielding his hearings from public scrutiny, keeping essential records secret. Prosecutors do not want Bradley’s motive to play a role in the trial. But Bradley Manning is a whistle-blower. Chat logs attributed to an online discussion with Bradley reveal his honorable intent: for the public to know the truth, and for that truth to inspire worldwide debate and reform. Pressure the president to acknowledge Bradley Manning’s status as a whistleblower and to uphold his campaign promise to protect him.

  1. Please keep calling (I was put on hold for a little while but the operator was very attentive in documenting my demands and was not dismissive in the least! I will also continue to call both the Obama line and others. He needs to know WE are the progressives that got him elected and WE will not stand for the horrible treatment of Bradley Manning nor forget that President Obama said on camera that Bradley Manning is guilty before even pretrial hearings!

  2. Mr President Barack Obama

I appeal to you to set Bradley Manning free. I come from Finland. Finland is an open society, like the other Northen European countries. Whenever malpractise has been taken place, we are allowed to publish it, even though it consernes a military issue. In the name of democracy and a free speech, Bradley Manning should not be accused of revealing maltreatment, whatever quarter causes it. Man should have a free speech, that also is an inheritance of the most respected Dr. Martin Luther King.

  3. Hi guys
I live in Australia – so follow from afar. Keep up the good work – things like this need to be stopped not just for a better America but a better world!

  4. Dear (?) President Obama !
This time I dont write to your office at White House, because it is useless. Except that someone lands on the black list of your security service, there is no further effect anyway.
So I choose this way to tell you something, that our german politicians dont tell you for sure:
Here in Europe many people now are tired of the continuing suppression, lies and bigotry of your government.
We here gradually get the feeling that the U.S. government is increasingly becoming the true threat to democracy, decency and freedom.

On the one hand in history you always praised truth, braveness and freedom, but on the other hand you imprison men, who live exactly these virtues.
You call your own nation in its anthem “home of the brave and the free”, but the brave people in USA arent free anymore.

You supress them with police-brutality (Occupy-movements), wrongful prosecutions and extradition requests (Julian Assange) and false imprisonment (Bradley Manning).

Once again, as I did in a letter to your office, I plea to you:
    Let Bradley Manning free!
He is neither a criminal nor a traitor or whatever else you ascribe to him.
He is a far more honest and straight man as you and your politicians ever can be.
He has had the courage and the moral, to show war-crimes, which should never have happened.
The farce, which the U.S. government is now helding for almost 2 years with Bradley Manning, is still simply embarrassing, untrustworthy, and shows the whole hypocrisy of your alleged democracy, which has long run out.
    Dear Barak Obama,
prove at least at two occasion, that your words are more than empty words, that the land of the brave and free, at least in these cases can be honest:
Just stop with the slander of Julian Assange and free Bradley Manning.

    Greetings from Germany
    Ysann

  5. Please free Bradley Manning. All he has done is, to reveal the truth. In a real democracy its citizens must know the truth, in order to make intelligent decisions at the voting booth! Bradley Manning is a hero and he must be released from prison!

  6. One by one & day by day every voice raised and action taken helps. If we can’t protect a soldier who gives us his life to be in harms way, from torture for exposing war crimes & human rights atrocities, God help us all, because it reflects a regime devoid of morals, ethics, justice and public awareness.

Calls are most effective when you remember folks on the phones don’t control anything but a message pad so being brief & polite will get the job done.

Feel free to call Members of Congress, Whips, Caucuses or Committees as well as your rep searched by zip code if you’re not sure who is what Capitol Switchboard will connect anywhere 202-224-3121 & not so friendly White House voicemail 202-456-1101

Brief & polite & get every message delivered!! :~)

  7. Please free Bradley Manning, a whistleblower among the likes of Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers. For two years the US has held Manning without trial&Bradley Manning, a US citizen and true patriot, has been tortured psychologically and emotionally. He has done no wrong, and for the US president to say he is guilty of a crime before he has even been to court is very wrong. The USA is no longer the shining beacon on the hill representing freedom and liberty for all people in the form of a Democracy, they are just a dictator of the world who oppresses other countries, and stands with Israel to abuse Palestinians. We don’t want for there to be another Roman Empire who uses force through a powerful military to get their way.
