Update 5/3/12: Report from the San Diego rally for Bradley!

On April 24th, supporters started at 4:30pm downtown San Diego where they freeway blogged over the I5 interstate.  Traffic was slow and we received many honks and drivers giving us peace signs.  About 20 people attended the event,  marching chanting “FREE FREE BRADLEY MANNING”, “No Justice, No Peace… U.S. Out of the Middle East!” and “Speaking Truth is not a crime, from iraq to Palestine!”.   The march ended in front of a busy outdoor mall, where they chanted and listened to two speakers (video below).

One speech was given by San Diego Coalition for Peace and Justice member Joshua Funn (also a marine veteran) and the other by San Diego Alliance for Marriage Equality, Michael Anderson, an organization that has been very outspoken on behalf of Private Manning within the LGBTQ Movement/Community, Occupy San Diego, and within the Anti War/Peace/Justice movement.

  1. I strongly support the cause, but must say that that Joshua’s speech was terrible. This is not a speech that will gain awareness or support for Manning.
